The Interdepartmental Centre for Industrial Research on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT CIRI) is the structure that the University of Bologna created in 2011 to promote, coordinate and carry out industrial research, promotion of research results and technology transfer in the field of ICT, to meet the needs of the industrial world and sustainability.
The CIRI ICT promotes the development and adoption of information and communication technologies for
* Address social challenges by setting dates, health, aging;
* Support the organization of businesses through automation and intelligent management of information, processes and products;
* Meet the needs of the people.
The CIRI ICT is the laboratory in which the University of Bologna participates in the High Technology Network of Emilia-Romagna Region, Platform ICT, with headquarters at the Technology Parks of Cesena, Forlì and Bologna. A peculiar characteristic of the CIRI ICT, which differs profoundly from the other universities, is that it has a highly qualified staff dedicated full time to the industrial research and technology transfer, firmly placed in the different offices of the CIRI. Approaching demand and industrial research offer, the CIRI ICT aims to ensure that knowledge generated through research is transformed into technologies and processes and then into marketable products and services for companies that wish to innovate sustainably.
